Volunteers Lead The Village at Castle Pines with Passion

The Parks and Rec Committee plans popular events like Music in the Park for residents.

Nestled between Castle Rock and Castle Pines, CO, The Village at Castle Pines stands out as a vibrant, well-managed neighborhood with an active spirit of volunteerism. Our residents are passionate about where they live and play a direct role in shaping the future of the Village through a wide range of volunteer opportunities.

With nearly 2,000 homes, The Village is as large as a small town — and just like any great town, it thrives thanks to the dedication of its people. More than 100 volunteers serve across ten committees, helping maintain the quality of life, protect home values, and strengthen the connection among neighbors. These efforts also help keep association dues low by reducing the need for additional staff.

Whether you’re new to our community or considering a move, volunteering is a great way to get involved and gain a deeper understanding of how our Village at Castle Pines community is managed. Here’s a look at the committees that help keep the Village running strong:

Forest Stewardship Committee

This committee plays a critical role in protecting one of the Village’s greatest assets: its natural forest environment. Volunteers monitor forested areas for health, manage fire mitigation strategies, and stay alert to threats like the pine beetle. Their efforts support the top community value of preserving the natural landscape while promoting safe, sustainable living in our wooded setting.

Parks & Recreation Committee

This committee manages the Village’s trails, open space, common area landscaping, and recreational facilities. Their mission is to ensure that all additions and enhancements align with the natural beauty of the area and serve the needs of the community. They also plan events and activities that encourage resident participation and build stronger neighbor connections.

Wildlife Committee

Living in a natural environment means coexisting with Colorado’s diverse wildlife. This committee helps residents understand how to live safely and respectfully alongside animals that share the land. Volunteers also assist when animals are injured, ill, or behaving aggressively, always with the goal of promoting peaceful coexistence.

Emergency Services Committee

Emergency services are one of the defining features of The Village at Castle Pines. This dedicated group of volunteers helps shape a long-term vision for community safety and offers oversight and feedback on emergency services operations. From fire and medical response to gate security, the committee ensures these services continue to meet the high standards that residents expect from a premier Colorado neighborhood.

Village Communications Committee

The Communications Committee is responsible for keeping residents informed and connected. This includes managing publications like the Village Reporter, the Village Weekly email, the website, and gate signs. Their work ensures clear and timely communication that supports transparency and fosters a strong sense of community identity.

Marketing Committee

The Marketing Committee focuses on promoting the value and image of the Village, both internally and externally. Volunteers support home sales, community branding, and resident engagement through digital and print marketing. Their work includes managing brochures, social media content, and website updates.

Long Range Planning & Finance Committee

Formed to oversee budgeting and long-term spending, this committee ensures the financial health of the Village by looking at the big picture. While each committee manages its own budget, this group provides fiscal oversight across the board. Their work helps ensure that resident dues are used wisely and that the community continues to thrive well into the future.

Technology Committee

Our volunteers on the Technology Committee develop and maintain the Village’s master technology plan. They develop plans to improve how technology services enhance the lives of those who live and work in The Village.

Design Review Committee

This committee manages the Village’s trails, open space, common area landscaping, and recreational facilities. Their mission is to ensure that all additions and enhancements align with the natural beauty of the area and serve the needs of the community. They also plan events and activities that encourage resident participation and build stronger neighbor connections.

Enforcement Committee

The Enforcement Committee conducts monthly hearings to determine whether violations of the covenants have occurred and, if so, work in partnership with those in violation to address any issues.

Volunteering is a key part of how The Village at Castle Pines stands out among communities  along the Colorado Front Range. Whether through committee work or participation in special events and programs, residents have countless ways to get involved and make a difference.
