Colorado Family Friendly Neighborhood – Village at Castle Pines

A Family-Friendly Neighborhood

When it comes to raising a family, the neighborhood you choose can have a significant impact on your quality of life. A family-friendly neighborhood can provide a safe and nurturing environment for your children to thrive for years to come.

Family-friendly neighborhoods typically have a combination of safety measures, amenities, and services that cater to the needs of families with children. Here are some key characteristics to look for:

Safety

This family-friendly neighborhood has safety measures in place to protect our resident children and promote a sense of security. These include:

  • Low traffic: Our winding, resort-style roads have the added benefit of being low traffic and slow speed, reducing the risk of accidents and making neighborhoods safer for children to play.
  • Security measures: From the access gates that require a driver’s license for access to the always-patrolling Emergency Services, our security maintains our safety.
  • Access to emergency services: Quick and easy access to fire, patrol and EMT services in case of emergencies. There is always an EMT on patrol to help with  accidents, even skinned knees or bumped heads.

Beautiful Outdoor Spaces

For those that remember the days of playing outside until the street lights came on, you know that parks and outdoor spaces are essential for families with children. They provide a safe and healthy environment for kids to play, exercise, and explore.

  • Well-maintained parks and playgrounds: Offering a balance of playground equipment at the four playgrounds and pocket parks as well as open spaces for children to enjoy quick pick up games. Our parents coaches can even reserve the playing fields for practices.
  • Walking and biking trails: Encouraging physical activity and providing safe routes for family outings, The Village’s 13 miles of trails encourage exploration!
  • Community spaces: Promoting outdoor activities and fostering a sense of community.

Access to a Quality Education

Access to quality public schools is crucial in a family-friendly neighborhood, as it ensures children receive a quality education, fostering their growth and future success.

  • Proximity to the top-ranked Douglas County public schools: Our neighborhood falls within the coveted Rock Canyon feeder school network which includes Rocky Heights Middle School and Buffalo Ridge Elementary School. Our location near highly ranked public schools is a strong selling point for the neighborhood.
  • Diverse educational options: Families love having the choice between top-ranked public schools, as well as charter schools, and private schools, all within a short drive. And Castle Rock’s vibrant homeschool network makes homeschooling a viable option for families that travel extensively. Whatever the education aspiration, there is an option for you.

The Village at Castle Pines

There are certain lifestyle elements and amenities that make The Village at Castle Pines stand out from other Douglas County neighborhoods. Its proximity to urban amenities and cultural attractions adds to its appeal.

Beyond the gates, there are numerous local and state parks, playgrounds, and community amenities close by, enhancing the quality of life for families. The VIllage Shops feature local culinary offerings and family-owned restaurants that contribute to the convenience for busy families on the go. The Village at Castle Pines also appeals to young professionals seeking a quiet community with a short 15-minute commuting distance to the Denver Tech Center and the downtown Denver metro area just beyond.

The Village at Castle Pines is a great place for families due to its diverse living environment and recreational opportunities. Here are five reasons The Village at Castle Pines has become a sought-after family neighborhood in Colorado.

The gate. It goes without saying that living in a gated community makes for a safer neighborhood. It provides peace of mind for families of children. If you grew up playing in the street as a kid or remember hanging out with the neighborhood kids, you know what an influential aspect of growing up that was for you. The Village’s gate protection means kids can play in the many parks, open spaces, or back yards with that same secure feeling.

Active kids will love this place! Two family-friendly swimming pools, tennis courts, pickleball courts, a basketball court, playground equipment, trails, killer sledding hills (if your home doesn’t already have a solid vertical drop), an activity field, and a volleyball court are available year-round. On top of that, the Village hosts a local swim team, youth tennis, and of course, for Country Club members, there is a fantastic golf option. Bike riding and dog walking are other favorite pastimes of the many families in our neighborhood.

Great nearby schools. Douglas County boasts some of the best schools in the state of Colorado. Choose our neighborhood feeder schools: Buffalo Ridge Elementary School, Rocky Heights Middle School, or Rock Canyon High School. Looking to apply for a charter school? Several Douglas County charter schools are within minutes of The Village at Castle Pines. And for those that are private school-bound, many elite private schools are just 15 minutes away on the north side of Douglas County.

Wildlife and nature are abundant. Nothing creates quite the same level of learning as curiosity about the world around you. With many different species of wildlife and natural open spaces, our Village can stoke that curiosity. Our Wildlife Committee regularly hosts wildlife programming that kids will love! And speaking of cool events, the Homes Association hosts family-friendly events throughout the year: Easter egg hunt, Fourth of July parade, the summer picnic, movies in the park, and more.

A neighborhood that serves the many stages of your family life. When kids are younger, a home with plenty of space for crafting, Lego builds, and gymnastics fits the bill. As teens get older, separate “hang out” areas might be in order. And college-bound kids may find themselves coming home to a smaller home base. Nearly 20% of residents of the Village Castle Pines are in their second home in the Village. With different styles and types of homes, you can make this the last neighborhood decision you ever make. Once you’ve lived here for a little while, you’ll understand why so many residents decide to make the Village home throughout the many stages of their lives.

The Village at Castle Pines is a great family-friendly neighborhood. The lifestyle amenities, spacious homes, fun neighborhood events, access to top-notch education, and of course, the peace of mind from living in a gated community can make living in the Village the best and last neighborhood decision you ever make for your family.
